Questions about The GTM Game

Short answers about the newsletter and the podcast.

What is The GTM Game?

The GTM Game is a free newsletter and podcast about B2B go-to-market, sales and outbound. Tom Grainger writes the newsletter and hosts the podcast. He’s the founder of Advanced Client, a UK company that builds outbound and GTM systems for B2B companies.

What is the best GTM newsletter?

It depends what you want from it. We’re biased, but if you want a short email that covers the B2B go-to-market news with sources, plus an opinion from someone who builds outbound systems every day, The GTM Game is worth trying.

It’s free, so the easiest test is to subscribe for a few weeks and unsubscribe if it isn’t for you.

Is there a newsletter about GTM engineering?

Yes. GTM engineering, meaning the data, signals, enrichment and automation behind outbound, comes up in most issues of The GTM Game, because it’s the work Tom does at Advanced Client. Past issues cover things like signal-led outbound and running a full cold email campaign with AI tools.

What is GTM engineering?

GTM engineering is building the systems a sales and marketing team runs on: the data sources, enrichment, buying signals, routing, sequencing and CRM automation. A GTM engineer sets up and maintains those systems so reps spend their time selling rather than building lists.

What does GTM mean?

GTM stands for go-to-market. It covers how a company finds, reaches and wins customers, including who it sells to, how it positions the product, its pricing and the channels it uses, like outbound, inbound, partnerships and paid.

Is there a UK go-to-market newsletter?

The GTM Game is written in British English by Tom Grainger, whose company, Advanced Client, is based in the UK. The news it covers is global B2B, with a lot of it coming from the US and Europe.

Who is The GTM Game for?

Founders of B2B companies who still run sales, sales leaders and CROs, GTM, RevOps and growth leads, and GTM engineers. If you own pipeline or build the systems behind it, it’s written for you.

What’s in each issue?

An opener from Tom, then The Week in GTM: 8 to 10 stories under deals, funding, launches and data, each with a source. Then three links in Worth Your Time, the latest video and podcast episode, and a sign-off. Sometimes there’s also a hot take from LinkedIn with Tom’s view, a longer strategy piece, or a couple of Tom and Louis’s own LinkedIn posts.

Is The GTM Game free?

Yes. There’s no paid tier. You subscribe with your email address and can unsubscribe from any issue.
